What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: biotin, a B vitamin your body uses to process fats, carbohydrates, and amino acids. The other ingredients are inactive—cane sugar, rice syrup, maltodextrin, natural flavors, palm oil, soy lecithin, glycerin, citric acid, fruit and vegetable juice, and malic acid—which help form and flavor the supplement.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Biotin is likely effective for treating biotin deficiency, which is rare but can happen in people with certain genetic conditions or those on long-term dialysis. For other uses listed here—multiple sclerosis, seborrheic dermatitis (a flaky scalp condition), and hair loss—the evidence doesn't support it; biotin is either possibly ineffective or there isn't enough reliable research to say either way.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Biotin is generally well tolerated, even at fairly high doses, because your body removes excess amounts in your urine. The main side effect reported is mild diarrhea, which has been rare and happened at much higher doses (300 mg daily) than what's in this supplement.
There's one isolated case report of a serious inflammation problem in a woman taking very high-dose biotin along with other supplements and a prescription drug, but no clear link to biotin alone and no similar cases since.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented for biotin in our data. You're clear from that angle—just confirm with your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about adding it to your routine.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This supplement is straightforward—one ingredient, no drug interactions documented. It's likely effective only if you actually have a biotin deficiency, which is uncommon.
If you're taking it for hair, skin, or a neurological condition, the evidence doesn't support that use. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this is the right choice for what you're aiming to do.
