Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product is 100% pure mangosteen fruit juice. That's the whole ingredient list — it's organic mangosteen juice and nothing else.

There's one active ingredient (the mangosteen fruit juice itself), and no inactive fillers or binders to worry about.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

We hold no graded evidence for this product's ingredients for its stated purpose.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: antioxidant superfood and free radical protection.
  • We looked for evidence on: oxidative stress, general wellness, cellular health, immune support.
  • Our graded evidence for these ingredients doesn't cover that particular purpose.

The evidence is mixed. Mangosteen is possibly effective for periodontitis (gum disease), though the data isn't robust.

For androgenic alopecia (male-pattern baldness), Alzheimer's disease, and atopic dermatitis (eczema), the evidence we hold isn't established well enough to rate it.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Mangosteen is generally well tolerated when used as food, but long-term safety of concentrated supplements like this hasn't been well studied. In trials, people taking mangosteen extract reported mild tiredness, headache, dizziness, and gastrointestinal symptoms — constipation, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal bloating — though it's unclear whether mangosteen caused these or something else did.

It's also reported dry throat, cough, and flu-like symptoms in some cases. The safety data advises against using mangosteen supplements during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe.

Moderate interaction found

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Mangosteen.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 125 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Double-check this product if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin, clopidogrel, or aspirin) — the risk of bleeding is a Moderate concern. You should also mention it to your pharmacist if you're on donepezil (Aricept), since mangosteen may raise its levels in the brain.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

If you take blood thinners or donepezil, check with us before starting this product. Mangosteen juice may be worth a try for gum disease if you're looking for a complementary option, but the evidence for other uses isn't solid.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, concomitant use of mangosteen with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs may increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro and animal research shows that gamma-mangostin, a constituent of mangosteen, is a potent and competitive antagonist of the serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor. Antagonism of the 5-HT2A receptor is believed to reduce platelet aggregation.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Donepezil (Aricept)

Theoretically, concomitant use of mangosteen with donepezil might increase the effects of donepezil.
Animal research shows that concomitant use of an aqueous extract of mangosteen pericarp with donepezil increases brain concentrations of donepezil at 4 hours by 64% without associated effects on systemic exposure.

100% Pure Mangosteen Juice by EB Earth's Bounty: Common Questions

Does 100% Pure Mangosteen Juice by EB Earth's Bounty interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, 100% Pure Mangosteen Juice has a known interaction with 125 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
100% Pure Mangosteen Juice contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
