What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: black cherry extract at 1000 mg per capsule. Black cherry is used as a supplement for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
The capsule also holds inactive ingredients — gelatin, rice flour, silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate — which are fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't hold effectiveness data for black cherry extract in our system, so we can't tell you what the science says about whether it works for any particular purpose.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Black cherry is generally considered safe in the small amounts found in cough drops and similar products, but here's the catch: the plant contains cyanide-forming compounds, and large amounts can be dangerous. Taking a high dose — especially over time — could theoretically lead to cyanide toxicity, which is serious.
One case report documented severe poisoning (headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, shortness of breath, and coma) in a person who consumed about 300 grams of cherries steeped in alcohol. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy because the risk hasn't been ruled out.
There also isn't enough safety information for breastfeeding, so it's best avoided while nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check any medications metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 before starting this supplement. A moderate interaction is theoretically possible, though it hasn't been confirmed in humans yet.
Your pharmacist can run your specific drugs through our interaction checker.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're taking any prescription medications — especially ones broken down by your liver — check with us before adding this. Pregnant or breastfeeding?
Skip it for now. And don't exceed the recommended dose; large amounts of black cherry carry real toxicity risk.

Black Cherry 1000 mg by Best Naturals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Black Cherry 1000 mg by Best Naturals contains one active ingredient — black cherry extract — that may interact with certain medications.
The main concern is a moderate interaction with drugs broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 (cytochrome P450 3A4). In lab studies, wild cherry can slow how this enzyme works, which might raise blood levels of affected drugs.
However, this hasn't actually been seen in people yet.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Although the theoretical risk exists, the interaction remains unproven in humans. Altogether, these interactions span 633 individual medications.
Still, if you take any drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 — such as certain cholesterol medications, antifungals, or others — it's worth checking your exact medicines with the tool on this page before you start the supplement.

Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
In vitro research suggests that wild cherry can inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzymes. Theoretically, wild cherry might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4. However, so far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and others.
