HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Caprylic Acid 250 mg by Seeking Health
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: caprylic acid at 250 mg per capsule. Caprylic acid is a medium-chain fatty acid that occurs naturally in coconut oil and breast milk.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — HPMC, ascorbyl palmitate, microcrystalline cellulose, silica, and medium-chain triglyceride oil — which are fillers and capsule materials.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for caprylic acid isn't established in our data. The product facts show insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for epilepsy or essential tremor, the conditions studied.
If you're considering it for another reason, we don't have effectiveness information on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Caprylic acid is generally recognized as safe in food amounts, but supplement doses — like the 250 mg in this product — are less well studied. Short-term use appears well tolerated in most people.
The most common side effects are mild abdominal discomfort and a change in taste perception; rarely, people report mild dizziness, headache, or fatigue. Because caprylic acid occurs naturally in breast milk but concentrated supplement safety during breastfeeding isn't known, use caution and talk with your doctor before taking this while nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Caprylic Acid 250 mg, double-check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners like warfarin, blood pressure medications, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These are the medication types with documented theoretical interactions with this product.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is a single-ingredient supplement with theoretical interactions affecting blood thinners, blood pressure medications, and NSAIDs — all Moderate severity. The human evidence is limited.

Caprylic Acid 250 mg by Seeking Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Caprylic Acid 250 mg by Seeking Health does interact with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners like warfarin (Coumadin) — caprylic acid may theoretically increase the blood thinner's concentration in your bloodstream. Lab research suggests it could displace warfarin from its binding sites, though this hasn't been observed in humans yet.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
You'll also want to check if you take blood pressure medications (antihypertensives) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or naproxen (NSAIDs). Animal research hints that caprylic acid might lower blood pressure further and could raise NSAID levels in your blood — again, through a displacement mechanism that hasn't been confirmed in people.
Altogether, these interactions span 260 individual medications. Because all three categories are marked Moderate severity and the human data is limited, use the search tool below to check your exact medications before starting this product.
