What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: cinnamon (specifically cassia cinnamon) at 1210 mg per capsule. That's the whole formula — there are no other active ingredients.
The capsule itself is an inactive ingredient used to deliver the cinnamon.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
We don't have solid evidence that cinnamon works for any of the conditions listed in our data — amenorrhea (absent periods), angina (chest pain), common cold, diabetes, diarrhea, or high cholesterol. All six conditions show insufficient reliable evidence.
If you're considering this product for any of those reasons, talk with us about what the research actually supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Cinnamon at typical food amounts is generally well tolerated. But at supplement doses — especially high ones or long-term use — there's a caution flag because of coumarin content.
Very high coumarin doses (50–7000 mg daily) have caused liver problems in humans, though those resolved once coumarin was stopped. At this product's dose over typical use periods, clinical trials haven't shown significant liver enzyme changes, but extended high-dose use is a concern worth monitoring.
Rare side effects reported include rash and, in one case, a hypoglycemic seizure (low blood sugar seizure) in someone taking 1 gram daily — though it's unclear if the cinnamon caused it. One person with a cinnamic alcohol allergy developed eyelid dermatitis from dietary cinnamon that cleared five days after stopping.
During pregnancy, food amounts of cinnamon are likely safe, but avoid high-dose supplement amounts — there isn't enough safety data. Breastfeeding safety data is also limited, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications if you take antidiabetes drugs (like metformin or insulin) or any hepatotoxic drugs that can strain the liver — both carry Moderate interaction risks with cassia cinnamon. Your doctor may need to adjust doses or monitor you more closely.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Cassia cinnamon at supplement doses isn't harmful for most people at typical intakes, but it's not proven to work for the conditions often cited. If you take diabetes medications or drugs that stress your liver, check your exact medications with us first — dose adjustments may be needed.
Long-term high-dose use warrants caution. Talk to your pharmacist before starting, especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or on any chronic medications.

Cinnamon Bark Capsules 1210 mg by Foster Regal Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Foster Regal's Cinnamon Bark Capsules contain cassia cinnamon, which does interact with certain medications.
The most serious concern is with drugs that can harm the liver (hepatotoxic drugs). In theory, large doses of this cinnamon over time might add to that liver stress, since cassia cinnamon contains coumarin — a compound that's shown liver effects in animals and, at very high doses, in humans too.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The second major interaction involves diabetes medications. Cassia cinnamon may lower blood sugar, so if you're already taking antidiabetes drugs, the combination could lower your blood sugar too much.
Your diabetes medication doses might need adjustment.
Alone, neither interaction has been confirmed in real-world clinical use at this product's dose, but both are Moderate concerns worth checking. Altogether, these interactions span 425 individual medications.
Use the medication checker on this page to see if any of your prescriptions are affected before you start.

For each ingredient in Cinnamon Bark Capsules 1210 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Cinnamon
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, cassia cinnamon may have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels, and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, large doses of cassia cinnamon might cause additive effects when used with hepatotoxic drugs.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
