Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 2 active ingredients.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains two active ingredients. Lycopene is a red pigment found naturally in tomatoes and other fruits; it's studied for prostate health and general circulation support.

Trans-Resveratrol is a compound from red grapes and wine that may support cardiovascular and metabolic health. The product also contains inactive ingredients like gelatin, cellulose, titanium dioxide, and food colorings — these are fillers and binders that give the capsule its form and stability.

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Supports healthy circulatory and prostate function.
  • We looked for evidence on: Cardiovascular disease (CVD), Atherosclerosis, Hypercholesterolemia, Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — and 4 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Lycopene is rated "Possibly Effective" for Prostate cancer (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Resveratrol is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Cardiovascular disease (CVD), Hypercholesterolemia.
  • Also on file: Resveratrol is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Cancer, Hypertension.

For lycopene, the evidence shows it's possibly effective for prostate cancer, but possibly ineffective for bladder cancer and diabetes. For other uses — high cholesterol, ALS, and exercise-induced asthma — the evidence is too limited to rate reliably.

For trans-resveratrol, it's possibly effective for obesity and hay fever (allergic rhinitis), but possibly ineffective for cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol. The evidence on circulation support specifically isn't rated in our data.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 2 of the 2 matched ingredients.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Lycopene from supplements is generally well tolerated, though some people report gastrointestinal side effects like diarrhea, nausea, bloating, or stomach upset. For pregnancy, supplement doses aren't well studied — food amounts are fine, but you should talk with your doctor before taking a lycopene supplement.

The same goes for breastfeeding — there's not enough safety data on supplements. Trans-Resveratrol is generally well tolerated at typical doses, though higher doses may cause diarrhea and digestive upset.

Long-term safety at higher doses is not fully established. The safety data advises against concentrated resveratrol supplements during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 2 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Resveratrol, Lycopene.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 823 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (such as warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel) — both lycopene and resveratrol may increase bleeding risk. Also check if you take any medication metabolized by the liver, especially those involving CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, or CYP2E1 enzymes — resveratrol may theoretically raise their levels, though human evidence is limited.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

This product is mainly for men looking to support circulation and cardiovascular health using natural compounds. The biggest caution is if you take blood thinners — both ingredients may boost bleeding risk.

Anyone on medications metabolized by the liver should check with their pharmacist. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor first — safety data is limited for resveratrol supplements, and lycopene supplements are not well studied.

Trans-Resveratrol5 drug types · 822 drugs

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Resveratrol may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Resveratrol seems to have antiplatelet effects.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates

Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates

Resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research suggests that resveratrol inhibits CYP2E1 isoenzyme. Also, a pharmacokinetic study shows that taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days prior to taking a single dose of chlorzoxazone 250 mg increases the maximum concentration of chlorzoxazone by about 54%, the area under the curve of chlorzoxazone by about 72%, and the half-life of chlorzoxazone by about 35%. Chlorzoxazone is used as a probe drug for CYP2E1.

Likelihood Probable Evidence B

Circulatory Health by GNC Mega Men: Common Questions

Does Circulatory Health by GNC Mega Men interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Circulatory Health has a known interaction with 822 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Circulatory Health contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I'm on a blood thinner?
Not without checking first. Both ingredients in this product may increase bleeding risk if combined with blood thinners like warfarin or antiplatelet drugs like aspirin. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
Is lycopene the same as what's in tomato sauce?
It's the same compound, but in different amounts. Food lycopene is safe; this supplement is concentrated. The supplement form has caused gastrointestinal side effects in some people — diarrhea, nausea, and stomach upset — though it's generally well tolerated.
What does trans-resveratrol actually do?
It's studied mostly for weight management and allergies, where it shows possibly effective evidence. For heart health specifically, the evidence is possibly ineffective. It's a natural antioxidant from grapes, but the circulation benefit you're buying this for isn't rated in our data.
Can I take this while pregnant?
The lycopene in this supplement isn't well studied in pregnancy, so there's not enough data to know if it's safe. The resveratrol is advised against during pregnancy based on safety information. Talk with your doctor before taking either.
What are the inactive ingredients for?
They're fillers, binders, and capsule materials — microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, food colorings, and starches — that hold the capsule together and help it dissolve in your stomach.
