Full Vitality Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by HerbaMe
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Full Vitality against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Full Vitality by HerbaMe
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Full Vitality contains seven active ingredients. Five are amino acids: L-Lysine Hydrochloride, L-Ornithine Hydrochloride, L-Glutamine, L-Arginine, and L-Glycine.
These are building blocks your body uses for protein, immune function, and wound healing. The product also contains Colostrum Powder (a nutrient-rich fluid from early milk) and Ornithine Alpha Keto Glutarate (a form of the amino acid ornithine combined with an organic acid).
The capsules are filled with inactive ingredients including gelatin, rice flour, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for effectiveness varies by ingredient and use. L-Glutamine is rated effective for sickle cell disease and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting and recovery after surgery or critical illness.
L-Lysine is possibly effective for cold sores (herpes labialis). L-Ornithine and Ornithine Alpha Keto Glutarate are both possibly effective for athletic performance.
For most other uses listed — including dry skin, insomnia, and growth — the evidence is insufficient to rate these ingredients. We hold no effectiveness data for L-Arginine, L-Glycine for most conditions, or Colostrum Powder.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most of these amino acids are generally well tolerated at typical doses, though long-term safety data are limited for several. Common side effects include stomach upset, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and headache.
L-Glutamine has occasionally been linked to neurological effects (dizziness, mania) in people with bipolar disorder or neurological conditions at higher doses. L-Arginine can lower blood pressure and may cause flushing and insomnia.
There is one old case report of very high-dose lysine associated with kidney problems. Regarding pregnancy: L-Glutamine is rated likely safe, and L-Arginine is possibly safe.
For L-Lysine, L-Ornithine, L-Ornithine Alpha Keto Glutarate, and L-Glycine, we lack enough safety data — talk with your doctor before using in pregnancy. For breastfeeding, L-Glutamine is noted as likely safe, but the others lack sufficient data, so caution is advised or they should be avoided unless a clinician recommends otherwise.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Full Vitality, check if you use any of these: blood pressure medications (especially ACE inhibitors or ARBs), heart medications like isoproterenol or sildenafil (Viagra), potassium-sparing diuretics (water pills that preserve potassium), blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, anticonvulsants (seizure medications), or clozapine (an antipsychotic). These interactions are rated moderate to minor and range from lowering blood pressure too much to potentially reducing medication effectiveness — all reasons to loop in your pharmacist before you start.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This is an amino acid blend aimed at supporting athletic performance, recovery, and immune function. It's most useful if you're looking at the research on L-Glutamine for specific health conditions or interested in L-Lysine for cold sores.
However, if you take blood pressure medications, blood thinners, anticonvulsants, clozapine, or any other regular medication, check your exact drugs with the tool below before starting. Talk with your pharmacist about whether Full Vitality fits your personal health picture.

Full Vitality by HerbaMe Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Full Vitality by HerbaMe contains several amino acids and other compounds that interact with medications.
The most serious concern is L-Arginine, which has moderate interactions with a number of blood pressure and heart medications. L-Arginine can lower blood pressure on its own and may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs (including ACE inhibitors and ARBs), isoproterenol, and sildenafil — raising the risk of excessively low blood pressure.
It may also increase potassium levels when combined with potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or ARBs, and could theoretically boost the blood-thinning effects of anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
L-Glutamine has a moderate interaction with anticonvulsant medications; theoretically it might reduce their effectiveness, though this hasn't been reported in humans yet. L-Lysine carries a minor interaction with 5-HT4 agonists (drugs used for certain GI conditions), as it may reduce their effects.
L-Glycine has a moderate interaction with clozapine, an antipsychotic — one small study suggests adding glycine worsens schizophrenia symptoms in patients already on clozapine.
Additionally, L-Ornithine Hydrochloride and Ornithine Alpha Keto Glutarate (both the same compound in different forms) have no interactions documented in our data. We could not check Colostrum Powder; we hold no interaction data for it.
Altogether, these interactions span 451 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact drugs before starting.

For each ingredient in Full Vitality with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
L-Arginine
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-arginine and ACE inhibitors may increase the risk for hypotension and hyperkalemia.
Combining L-arginine with some antihypertensive drugs, especially ACE inhibitors, seems to have additive vasodilating and blood pressure-lowering effects. Furthermore, ACE inhibitors can increase potassium levels. Use of L-arginine has been associated with hyperkalemia in some patients. Theoretically, concomitant use of ACE inhibitors with L-arginine may increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (Arbs)
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-arginine and ARBs may increase the risk of hypotension and hyperkalemia.
L-arginine increases nitric oxide, which causes vasodilation. Combining L-arginine with ARBs seems to increase L-arginine-induced vasodilation. Furthermore, ARBs can increase potassium levels. Use of L-arginine has been associated with hyperkalemia in some patients. Theoretically, concomitant use of ARBs with L-arginine may increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-arginine with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs might have additive effects and increase the risk of bleeding.
Preliminary research suggests that L-arginine infusions reduce platelet aggregation in humans. The clinical significance of this effect is unclear.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-arginine might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Preliminary clinical research shows that L-arginine decreases blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-arginine and antihypertensive drugs may increase the risk of hypotension.
L-arginine increases nitric oxide, which causes vasodilation. Clinical evidence shows that L-arginine can reduce blood pressure in some individuals with hypertension. Furthermore, combining L-arginine with some antihypertensive drugs seems to have additive vasodilating and blood pressure-lowering effects.
Isoproterenol (Isuprel)
Theoretically, concurrent use of isoproterenol and L-arginine might result in additive effects and hypotension.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that L-arginine enhances isoproterenol-induced vasodilation in patients with essential hypertension or a family history of essential hypertension.
Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Theoretically concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics with L-arginine may increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Potassium-sparing diuretics can increase potassium levels. Use of L-arginine has been associated with hyperkalemia in some patients.
Sildenafil (Viagra)
Theoretically, concurrent use of sildenafil and L-arginine might increase the risk for hypotension.
In vivo, concurrent use of L-arginine and sildenafil has resulted in increased vasodilation. Theoretically, concurrent use might have additive vasodilatory and hypotensive effects. However, in studies evaluating the combined use of L-arginine and sildenafil for erectile dysfunction, hypotension was not reported.
Testosterone
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-arginine and testosterone might have additive effects.
In clinical research, L-arginine increases the level of testosterone in male patients with erectile dysfunction. The clinical significance of this finding is unclear.
L-Glutamine
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
L-Lysine Hydrochloride
5-Ht4 Agonists
Theoretically, lysine may reduce the effects of 5-HT4 agonists.
Animal research suggests that L-lysine is a partial serotonin receptor 4 (5-HT4) antagonist and inhibits diarrhea induced by the 5-HT4 agonist, 5-hydroxytryptophane.
L-Glycine
Clozapine (Clozaril)
Theoretically, glycine might decrease the effectiveness of clozapine.
One small clinical study in patients with schizophrenia shows that adding glycine to clozapine therapy worsens symptoms of schizophrenia when compared with clozapine alone. The mechanism of this interaction is unclear.
