Inner Glow Ingredients & Drug Interactions

What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Inner Glow against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Inner Glow has 3 active ingredients. Sodium is the mineral your body needs for nerve and muscle function, but it's also the one driving the interactions here.
The other actives are listed as a proprietary apple cider vinegar blend and wheat seed extract — we hold no separate breakdown of what's in those blends, so we can't assess their individual roles. The capsule itself contains inactive ingredients (modified cellulose, water, pea starch, and silica) that help hold everything together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we have is for sodium itself. Sodium is likely effective for cystic fibrosis.
For amphotericin B nephrotoxicity (kidney damage from a fungal antibiotic), the evidence is possibly effective. For bipolar disorder and congestive heart failure, the evidence is insufficient — we simply don't have solid data one way or the other.
We hold no effectiveness ratings for the apple cider vinegar blend or wheat seed extract in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Sodium is well tolerated when you stay within normal dietary amounts — up to about 2,300 milligrams daily. The real concern is excess: too much sodium is linked to high blood pressure, heart strain, and kidney problems.
Population studies also tie high sodium intake to increased gastric cancer risk. Pregnancy and lactation ratings are mixed in our data — one entry says likely safe, another says possibly unsafe — so talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this while pregnant or nursing.
Topical safety data on sodium hasn't been thoroughly studied.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take lithium, blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), steroids (corticosteroids), didanosine, sodium phosphate prep solutions, tolvaptan, or any other sodium-containing drugs, check with your pharmacist before starting this product. All of these have documented Moderate interactions with the sodium in Inner Glow.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Inner Glow is primarily a sodium supplement, so it's not for everyone. If you take lithium, blood pressure drugs, steroids, or other sodium-sensitive medications, you need to talk with your pharmacist or doctor first — the interactions are real and can affect how well your drugs work.
If you're simply looking for general wellness and have no relevant medications, it's worth a conversation about whether you actually need added sodium.

Inner Glow by Bragg Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Inner Glow by Bragg contains sodium, which has documented interactions with multiple medication types.
The most serious concern is with lithium (a mood stabilizer). High sodium intake can reduce lithium levels in your blood by increasing how quickly your kidneys clear it — but if you then cut back on sodium, lithium can build up to toxic levels.
This is a real balancing act that needs medical oversight.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Sodium also interacts with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), steroids (corticosteroids), and several other drug classes. High dietary sodium can blunt how well blood pressure drugs work and may force dose increases.
Steroids can cause your body to hold onto sodium, which combined with a supplement raises the risk of high blood sodium (hypernatremia). Similar risks apply if you're taking didanosine (an HIV medication), sodium phosphate bowel preps, tolvaptan (for low sodium levels), or other sodium-containing drugs.
We could not check the interaction data for acetic acid and digalactosyl diglyceride — no monographs on file for those. Altogether, these interactions span 203 individual medications.
Before you start Inner Glow, run your exact medications through the checker on this page.

For each ingredient in Inner Glow with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Wheat Seed Extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking wheatgrass with antidiabetes drugs might lower blood glucose levels and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that taking wheatgrass stimulates the release of insulin from beta-cells and lowers blood glucose.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, wheatgrass might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that wheatgrass induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Sodium
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, a high intake of dietary sodium might reduce the effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs.
High intake of dietary sodium can increase systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Also, high intake of sodium may necessitate increased use of antihypertensive medications to achieve blood pressure control in some patients, such as those with chronic kidney disease.
Corticosteroids
Concomitant use of mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Mineralocorticoids and some glucocorticoids (corticosteroids) cause sodium retention. This effect is dose-related and depends on mineralocorticoid potency. It is most common with hydrocortisone, cortisone, and fludrocortisone, followed by prednisone and prednisolone.
Didanosine (Videx)
Concomitant use of didanosine with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Didanosine formulations contain a significant amount of sodium.
Lithium
Altering dietary intake of sodium might alter the levels and clinical effects of lithium.
High sodium intake can reduce plasma concentrations of lithium by increasing lithium excretion. Reducing sodium intake can significantly increase plasma concentrations of lithium and cause lithium toxicity in patients being treated with lithium carbonate. Stabilizing sodium intake is shown to reduce the percentage of patients with lithium level fluctuations above 0.8 mEq/L. Patients taking lithium should avoid significant alterations in their dietary intake of sodium.
Sodium Phosphates
Theoretically, concomitant use of sodium phosphate with sodium supplements might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Use of high doses (> 45 mL in 24 hours) of sodium phosphate, such as those used for bowel cleansing before surgery, can lead to serious electrolyte disturbances, including hypernatremia. The risk of hypernatremia is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Sodium-Containing Drugs
Concomitant use of sodium-containing drugs with additional sodium from dietary or supplemental sources may increase the risk of hypernatremia and long-term sodium-related complications.
The Chronic Disease Risk Reduction (CDRR) intake level of 2.3 grams of sodium daily indicates the intake at which it is believed that chronic disease risk increases for the apparently healthy population. Some medications contain high quantities of sodium. When used in conjunction with sodium supplements or high-sodium diets, the CDRR may be exceeded. Additionally, concomitant use may increase the risk for hypernatremia; this risk is highest in the elderly and people with other risk factors for electrolyte disturbances.
Tolvaptan (Samsca)
Theoretically, concomitant use of tolvaptan with sodium might increase the risk of hypernatremia.
Tolvaptan is a vasopressin receptor 2 antagonist that is used to increase sodium levels in patients with hyponatremia. Patients taking tolvaptan should use caution with the use of sodium salts such as sodium chloride.
