Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Salicylamide
Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Salicylamide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Wheatgrass interacts with.
In vitro research shows that wheatgrass induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This cold-and-pain combo (which includes Tylenol-type acetaminophen, the antihistamine chlorpheniramine, the decongestant phenylephrine, and salicylamide) is mostly handled by your liver. The idea here is that wheatgrass might gently speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which could in theory clear some of these ingredients a little faster and make them work slightly less well, so you might notice less relief of your aches or stuffy nose.
Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. The concern comes only from lab and test-tube research, not from real people, so it's theoretical. Everyday food amounts of wheatgrass are unlikely to matter much. If you take concentrated wheatgrass daily and feel your medicine isn't helping, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Salicylamide page
“I would slow down before pairing supplements with Rhinogesic (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, phenylephrine, salicylamide). Each part of this cold remedy opens a different door to trouble, so supplements can collide with it from several directions at once.”

About Wheatgrass
What is Wheatgrass?
- General nutrition support
- Digestive health
- Antioxidant support
- Energy and wellness
- Arthritis symptoms
- Detox or cleansing routines
Wheatgrass is the young grass of the wheat plant, taken as a juice or powder, and is mainly used as a concentrated source of vitamins and plant nutrients. Solid scientific evidence for most health claims is limited, and it is best viewed as a nutritional add-on rather than a treatment. It is generally well tolerated, but people with celiac disease, wheat allergy, or who are pregnant should be cautious and check with a healthcare provider.
