HelloPharmacist Scorecard of InnoSlim 250 mg by Swanson
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
InnoSlim contains 2 active ingredients: astragalus membranaceus extract and Panax notoginseng extract. Astragalus is a traditional herb used in East Asian medicine to support immune and cardiovascular function.
Panax notoginseng is another traditional herb, used mainly for blood flow and recovery from trauma. The product also contains inactive ingredients—hypromellose, rice flour, maltodextrin, magnesium stearate, and silica—which are fillers, binders, and capsule material.
Does it work?
Not established
Evidence for both astragalus and Panax notoginseng is limited. For astragalus, the data we hold show insufficient evidence to rate its use for allergic rhinitis, amenorrhea, aplastic anemia, angina, asthma, and beta-thalassemia.
For Panax notoginseng, it is rated possibly effective for angina, stroke, and intracranial hemorrhage, but possibly ineffective for heart attack. Evidence is insufficient to rate it for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
If you're considering InnoSlim for a specific health goal, check with your doctor or pharmacist about whether the evidence supports that use.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both astragalus and Panax notoginseng are generally well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, though quality human safety data are limited. Reported side effects from astragalus include dizziness and rash (in rare cases, intravenous administration caused temporary palpitations).
Panax notoginseng may cause dry mouth, nausea, insomnia, nervousness, flushed skin, rash, or vomiting. The safety data advise against astragalus and Panax notoginseng during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning either, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take InnoSlim, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you use blood thinners like warfarin, antidiabetes drugs, lithium, immunosuppressants (including cyclophosphamide), aspirin, caffeine, or any drugs your liver metabolizes through the CYP1A2 pathway (such as some antidepressants, antipsychotics, or pain relievers). All of these carry Moderate interaction risk with one or both ingredients in this product.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
InnoSlim is a two-ingredient herbal product with interactions across a large number of medications, especially blood thinners, diabetes drugs, lithium, and certain immune-modulating drugs. If you take any prescription medications—or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding—check your specific drugs with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Both ingredients are generally well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, but the evidence for what they actually do is weak to modest.

InnoSlim 250 mg by Swanson Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
InnoSlim 250 mg by Swanson contains astragalus and Panax notoginseng, both of which interact with medications.
The most serious concern is Panax notoginseng with blood thinners like warfarin — it may increase bleeding risk by raising warfarin levels and blood-clotting time.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Astragalus carries Moderate interactions with immunosuppressants (drugs that weaken the immune system on purpose, which astragalus may counteract), lithium (where its diuretic effect might raise lithium levels), cyclophosphamide (an immunosuppressive chemotherapy drug, though evidence is conflicting), and antidiabetes drugs (it may lower blood sugar further, raising hypoglycemia risk). Panax notoginseng also has Moderate interactions with aspirin, increasing salicylic acid levels by about 50%; with caffeine, where it may reduce caffeine's effects; and with CYP1A2 substrates — a large category of drugs your liver metabolizes, including some antidepressants, antipsychotics, and pain relievers.
Both ingredients are generally well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, but human safety data are limited. Altogether, these interactions span 414 individual medications.

For each ingredient in InnoSlim 250 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Astragalus membranaceus extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking astragalus with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research in humans shows that astragalus might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, taking astragalus, especially in combination with other hypoglycemic agents, might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Cyclophosphamide
Theoretically, astragalus might interfere with cyclophosphamide therapy.
Evidence regarding the effect of astragalus on immunosuppression caused by cyclophosphamide is conflicting. Some animal research suggests that astragalus reverses cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppression. However, other animal research shows no effect.
Immunosuppressants
Theoretically, astragalus might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy.
Astragalus seems to stimulate immune function. Theoretically, taking astragalus might decrease the effects of immunosuppressive therapy.
Lithium
Theoretically, astragalus might increase levels and adverse effects of lithium.
Animal research suggests that astragalus has diuretic properties. Theoretically, due to this diuretic effect, astragalus might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium.
Panax notoginseng extract
Aspirin
Theoretically, taking Panax notoginseng concomitantly with aspirin may increase the risk of adverse effects from both products.
Animal research shows that taking Panax notoginseng extract with aspirin increases blood levels of salicylic acid by approximately 50% and blood levels of Panax notoginseng by 75% to 196%. This effect may be due to increased absorption of both products.
Caffeine
Theoretically, taking Panax notoginseng may decrease the levels and clinical effects of caffeine.
Animal research shows that administering Panax notoginseng intravenously for 7 days before intraperitoneal injection of caffeine can decrease maximal blood levels of caffeine by 37%. This interaction is attributed to the ability of Panax notoginseng to increase the activity of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) enzymes.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, taking Panax notoginseng might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Animal research shows that administering Panax notoginseng intravenously for 7 days before intraperitoneal injection of caffeine can decrease maximal blood levels of caffeine by 37%. This interaction was attributed to the ability of Panax notoginseng to increase the activity of CYP1A2.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, taking Panax notoginseng concomitantly with warfarin may increase the risk of bleeding.
Animal research shows that taking Panax notoginseng concomitantly with warfarin increases plasma warfarin levels, prothrombin time, and international normalized ratio when compared with control. In vitro research also suggests that Panax notoginseng may downregulate expression of cytochrome P450 3A4 enzymes, which may affect warfarin metabolism.
