What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains a single active ingredient: Setria Glutathione, a form of glutathione — a compound your cells make naturally and use to protect themselves from damage. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients (hypromellose, rice flour, and calcium laurate), which are fillers and binders that help hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for glutathione is mixed and incomplete. It's rated possibly effective for protection against nerve damage from the chemotherapy drug cisplatin (Platinol).
For everything else this product is marketed for — fatty liver disease, Alzheimer's disease, athletic performance, and cataracts — the data we hold shows insufficient reliable evidence to say whether it works.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Oral glutathione appears generally well tolerated in the short term, but long-term safety data are limited. One important caution: if you have asthma, inhaled glutathione can narrow your airways and cause shortness of breath or cough — though this product is a capsule taken by mouth, so that's a concern mainly for other forms.
During pregnancy, there isn't enough reliable safety information, so the data advises against it unless your doctor advises otherwise. The same applies during breastfeeding — there isn't enough data to know either way, so caution and avoidance are advised.

The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may be worth considering if you're looking into cisplatin protection and your oncologist agrees. For other uses — brain health, liver support, exercise — the evidence hasn't been established yet.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have asthma.
