Omega-3 Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Omega-3 against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains 7 ingredients total, centered on omega-3 fatty acids — including eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, two key omega-3s your body can't make on its own. It also includes lemon oil for flavoring or other purposes.
The product contains no listed inactive ingredients like fillers or binders.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The effectiveness data we hold covers only the lemon oil in this product, and it shows insufficient evidence to rate lemon oil's effectiveness for allergic rhinitis (hay fever), anxiety, respiratory tract infections, high blood pressure, or kidney stones. We don't have effectiveness ratings on file for the omega-3 fatty acids themselves in this formula.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lemon oil as a food or drink is generally well tolerated in normal amounts. However, concentrated lemon supplements or essential oils haven't been well studied and should only be used if your doctor approves.
Clinical trials found that fresh lemon juice taken in larger amounts (60 mL twice daily) caused heartburn in 21% of participants and upper abdominal pain in 8%, compared to much lower rates in people taking placebo. We don't have pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data on file for this product's ingredients.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
If you take itraconazole (Sporanox), an antifungal medication, discuss this supplement with your pharmacist first — the lemon oil may increase your drug levels. We couldn't check the omega-3 fatty acids in this product for interactions, so run your exact medications through the search tool on this page, then confirm with your own doctor or pharmacist.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This omega-3 supplement is an option if you're looking to boost omega-3 intake, though we can't verify the omega-3 ingredients themselves for drug interactions. The lemon oil carries only a minor risk with one antifungal medication.
If you take itraconazole, any blood thinners, or other regular medications, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this product — they can review your full medication list and tell you whether it's right for you.

We couldn't check the omega-3 fatty acids themselves (eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid, and others) because we don't hold interaction data for them. That doesn't mean they don't interact — it means the data isn't on file for us to review.
If you take itraconazole or any other prescription medication, use the search tool below to check your exact drugs before starting this supplement. Your pharmacist or doctor can tell you whether the lemon oil content poses a real concern for you.

Itraconazole (Sporanox)
Theoretically, taking itraconazole capsules or tablets with a beverage containing lemon might increase the levels and clinical effects of itraconazole.
In one case report, dissolving itraconazole tablets in a small amount of specific beverages containing lemon prior to administration increased the level of itraconazole in a lung transplant patient. In this case, the increased bioavailability was desirable and was likely due to improved tablet dissolution in the acidic beverage.
