What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Organic Marshmallow Leaf against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.

It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Organic Marshmallow Leaf by Ra Herbals
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: marshmallow leaf. Marshmallow has been used traditionally to soothe mucous membranes and support respiratory and digestive health.
The liquid form also includes cane alcohol and distilled water as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for marshmallow leaf isn't established in the data we hold. Research has looked at its use for vaginal yeast infections, diarrhea, venous leg ulcers, eczema, and respiratory tract infections, but the current evidence is insufficient to rate whether it actually works for any of these.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Marshmallow is generally well tolerated for short-term use, though human safety data are limited — we don't have robust long-term studies. There isn't enough reliable safety information to know whether it's safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding; talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice before using it if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you use lithium (diuretic effects may raise lithium levels and risk toxicity) or take oral medications by mouth (mucilage may reduce how well they're absorbed). Space this supplement 30 to 60 minutes apart from other oral drugs when possible.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
Organic Marshmallow Leaf may appeal to you if you're interested in traditional herbal support for respiratory or digestive comfort, but the evidence for its effectiveness isn't established. If you take lithium or any oral medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting — the timing and potential dose adjustments matter.
This product's safety profile in pregnancy and breastfeeding isn't well documented, so discuss it with your healthcare provider if either applies to you.

Organic Marshmallow Leaf by Ra Herbals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Organic Marshmallow Leaf by Ra Herbals interacts with lithium and can affect how your body absorbs oral medications.
The most serious concern is with lithium — marshmallow's diuretic properties may reduce how quickly your kidneys clear lithium, raising its levels in your blood and risking toxicity. If you take lithium, your doctor may need to adjust your dose.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Marshmallow contains mucilage, a thick substance that can slow or reduce how well your body absorbs oral medications taken by mouth. To avoid this, separate doses: take this supplement 30 to 60 minutes after you take other oral drugs.
Additionally, animal research suggests marshmallow flower may have mild blood-thinning effects, though the leaf used in this product is less likely to cause concern than the flower.
Altogether, these interactions span 2,041 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to see if any of your specific prescriptions are listed.

For each ingredient in Organic Marshmallow Leaf with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Marshmallow
Lithium
Theoretically, due to potential diuretic effects, marshmallow might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium.
Marshmallow is thought to have diuretic properties. To avoid lithium toxicity, the dose of lithium might need to be decreased when used with marshmallow.
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, marshmallow flower might have antiplatelet effects.
Animal research suggests that marshmallow flower extract has antiplatelet effects. However, the root and leaf of marshmallow, not the flower, are the plant parts most commonly found in dietary supplements. Theoretically, use of marshmallow flower with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs can have additive effects, and might increase the risk for bleeding in some patients.
Oral Drugs
Theoretically, mucilage in marshmallow might impair absorption of oral drugs.
Marshmallow contains mucilage which can affect oral drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take marshmallow 30-60 minutes after oral medications.
