The softgel itself is made from gelatin, glycerin, purified water, and soybean oil.

Phosphatidylcholine is possibly effective for ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel condition). For nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcohol-related liver disease, Alzheimer disease, and anxiety, the evidence we have isn't strong enough to say whether it works — those ratings are marked insufficient evidence.

Phosphatidylcholine is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth. At very high doses (30 grams per day), it can cause digestive upset and diarrhea; even smaller doses have occasionally caused bloating, diarrhea, altered taste, nausea, and vomiting in some people.
Sweating and itching can also occur with oral use. Choline (which phosphatidylcholine contains) is needed during pregnancy, but we don't have enough reliable data on supplement safety beyond food sources during pregnancy — talk with your doctor before taking this while pregnant.

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a phospholipid present in all cell membranes throughout the body (and the brain in particular) and contains choline, an important precursor to acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter in the brain. Country Life provides our best selling Phosphatidyl Choline Complex that contains 420 mg of PC to help support cell membranes, and support healthy cognitive function.
