Beta-alanine (CarnoSyn) is generally well tolerated and commonly causes a harmless tingling sensation in the skin and flushing that usually lasts about an hour. L-citrulline malate is generally well tolerated but long-term safety hasn't been fully studied; gastrointestinal discomfort and heartburn are reported.

Agmatine sulfate appears well tolerated short-term; diarrhea, indigestion, and nausea have been reported in small studies. Grape seed extract is generally well tolerated, with the most common side effects being abdominal pain, diarrhea, dry mouth, indigestion, headache, joint pain, and nausea — anaphylaxis to grape skin is rare.

During pregnancy, L-ornithine, beta-alanine, L-citrulline, and agmatine all lack enough safety data; the supplement is best avoided. L-tyrosine also lacks sufficient pregnancy data.
