For Lactobacillus acidophilus, the evidence suggests it may be effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. Bifidobacterium bifidum also shows possible effectiveness for irritable bowel syndrome and respiratory tract infections.
Bacillus subtilis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (brewer's yeast) may be effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea. For most other uses listed — including age-related cognitive decline, hay fever, anxiety, asthma, and athletic performance — the evidence is insufficient to rate these ingredients, or they're possibly ineffective (as with Bifidobacterium longum and atopic disease).
The effectiveness of Fulvic Acid Minerals and Humics for any health condition is not established in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, and Bifidobacterium bifidum are generally well tolerated in healthy people, though all carry a caution that those with weakened immune systems should be careful. In rare cases, these live bacteria have been associated with serious infections like bacteremia or sepsis in critically ill or immunocompromised patients — an important consideration if you're seriously ill or have a compromised immune system.
Mild gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea are uncommon but possible when taking these probiotics. Bacillus subtilis is generally well tolerated but has limited safety data; one headache was reported in a trial, and rare cases of serious infection have occurred in people with specific risk factors.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (brewer's yeast) is well tolerated in food amounts but can cause flatulence, migraines, and intestinal discomfort in sensitive individuals; rare serious effects include fungemia or anaphylaxis. Fulvic Acid Minerals appears well tolerated short-term but has limited human safety data; common side effects include diarrhea, headache, and sore throat.
The safety data advises against Fulvic Acid use in pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Humics has limited safety data and should be avoided in pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
