Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: raspberry ketone, a compound found naturally in raspberries. The capsule also holds inactive ingredients — vegetable cellulose, calcium carbonate, and magnesium stearate — which are standard fillers and binders that help hold the capsule together.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Raspberry Ketone product and its label doesn't state a use — see Raspberry Ketone's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for raspberry ketone is limited. According to the data we hold, there is insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for either of the conditions it's marketed for — hair loss (alopecia areata) and weight management (obesity).

That means the studies so far haven't been strong enough to confirm whether it actually works for these purposes.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Raspberry ketone is used safely in foods, but when taken as a concentrated supplement at high doses, human safety data is very limited. Case reports describe stimulant-like side effects — heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, and in one serious case, an abnormal heart rhythm.

A small number of people have also reported sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness after taking it. The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know whether it's safe at those times.

If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this supplement.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Raspberry Ketone.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 174 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before you start, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or any blood thinner — raspberry ketone may reduce its effectiveness and require a dose adjustment. Also check if you take any stimulant medications, as the supplement might increase your risk of heart-related side effects.

No other interactions are documented in our data for this ingredient.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Raspberry ketone is most relevant if you're looking to address hair loss or weight management, though the evidence that it works is not established. The main concern is if you take warfarin or stimulant medications — you'll want to clear this with your doctor or pharmacist first, as it may interfere with how those drugs work.

Pregnant and breastfeeding people should avoid it. Run your medications through the interaction checker on this page to be sure.

Stimulant Drugs

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Warfarin (Coumadin)

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.

Pure Raspberry Ketone by Quality Nature Supplements: Common Questions

Does Pure Raspberry Ketone by Quality Nature Supplements interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Pure Raspberry Ketone has a known interaction with 174 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Pure Raspberry Ketone contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No — the safety data advises against it. There isn't enough information to know whether concentrated raspberry ketone is safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're in either situation and want to explore options.
What are the side effects?
Case reports mention heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, and abnormal heart rhythms. A smaller number of people have reported sweating, diarrhea, and feelings of shakiness. Because the supplement structurally resembles a known stimulant, stimulant-like side effects are possible, though they haven't been well studied in large groups of people.
Does raspberry ketone actually work for hair loss or weight loss?
According to the data we hold, there is insufficient reliable evidence to say either way. The research so far hasn't been strong enough to confirm it works for alopecia areata or obesity.
Why is raspberry ketone a concern with warfarin?
In one documented case, a patient's INR (a measure of how well warfarin is working) dropped while taking raspberry ketone, and the warfarin dose had to be increased to restore protection. This suggests the supplement may interfere with warfarin's effect and reduce your clot protection.
What's in the capsule besides the active ingredient?
The capsule contains vegetable cellulose, calcium carbonate, and magnesium stearate — all standard inactive ingredients used as fillers and binders.
