Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: 100 mg of raspberry ketones per capsule. Raspberry ketones are compounds naturally found in raspberries; in supplement form, they're used in concentrated doses well above what you'd get from eating the fruit.

The capsule also contains vegetable cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, gelatin, silica, and vegetable magnesium stearate — these are inactive ingredients that help hold the capsule together.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Raspberry Ketone product and its label doesn't state a use — see Raspberry Ketone's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for raspberry ketones isn't established yet. According to the data we hold, effectiveness for alopecia areata (a hair-loss condition) and obesity are both rated as having insufficient reliable evidence.

That means the research so far hasn't proven whether it works for these uses — not that it doesn't work, but we can't say it does based on what's been studied.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Raspberry ketones are used safely in foods, but the safety data for high-dose supplements is very limited. Case reports describe possible stimulant-related side effects, including heart palpitations, faster heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and in rare cases, serious heart arrhythmias.

A small number of cases also mention sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness. Because safety information is incomplete, the data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Raspberry Ketone.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 174 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you're on any stimulant drugs (like decongestants, ADHD medications, or weight-loss stimulants) — raspberry ketone may increase heart palpitations and other cardiovascular side effects. Also confirm it's okay if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or other blood thinners, as it may make them less effective and require a dose adjustment.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

If you take stimulant medications or warfarin (a blood thinner), this product isn't a good fit without talking to your doctor first — the interactions could affect how your heart works or how well your blood thinner performs. Even if you don't take those medications, the long-term safety data on high-dose raspberry ketones is thin.

Stimulant Drugs

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Warfarin (Coumadin)

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.

Raspberry Ketones 100 mg by Nature's Bounty: Common Questions

Does Raspberry Ketones 100 mg by Nature's Bounty interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Raspberry Ketones 100 mg has a known interaction with 174 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Raspberry Ketones 100 mg contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. The safety data advises against raspberry ketone supplements during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe at these doses. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
What side effects might I experience?
Stimulant-related side effects are possible because raspberry ketone structurally resembles synephrine, a known stimulant. Case reports mention heart palpitations, faster heart rate, elevated blood pressure, sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness. In rare cases, serious heart arrhythmias have been reported. Human safety data at supplement doses is very limited.
Does raspberry ketone actually work for weight loss or hair loss?
According to our data, the evidence isn't there yet. Both obesity and alopecia areata (hair loss) are rated as having insufficient reliable evidence — meaning the research hasn't proven it works for either use so far.
Why does this product interact with so many medications?
The 174 individual medications listed represent the total across all the documented interaction categories for raspberry ketone — mainly stimulant drugs and warfarin. Many stimulant medications exist (decongestants, ADHD drugs, diet aids, etc.), which is why the count is high.
