Recovery is a 13-ingredient amino acid and recovery-support formula. The active ingredients include essential amino acids (L-methionine, L-phenylalanine, L-threonine, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine), branched-chain amino acids that support muscle recovery; L-lysine and L-histidine, which play roles in immune and connective-tissue function; and specialized recovery compounds including arginine-ketoisocaproate, ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate, and glutamine alpha-ketoglutarate—all designed to support post-workout recovery and muscle protein synthesis.
The formula also contains AstraGin, a bioavailability enhancer meant to improve nutrient absorption. The inactive ingredients are vegetable capsules and brown rice powder.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence varies by ingredient. Glutamine is rated effective for sickle cell disease and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting and postoperative recovery.
Ornithine is possibly effective for athletic performance. L-lysine is possibly effective for cold sores.
L-phenylalanine is possibly effective for vitiligo but possibly ineffective for ADHD. For most other uses—muscle recovery, growth, and general athletic performance—the evidence we hold is insufficient or unavailable.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most of these amino acids are generally well tolerated at typical dietary and supplement doses. The most common side effects across the formula are gastrointestinal—nausea, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, and abdominal pain—especially with glutamine and L-lysine at higher doses.
L-phenylalanine can cause anxiety, insomnia, headache, and heartburn. L-methionine may cause dizziness, drowsiness, irritability, or vomiting.
High-dose L-methionine can raise homocysteine levels, a risk factor for vascular disease. Pregnancy and breastfeeding data vary: L-methionine and L-histidine are rated likely safe in pregnancy and lactation; L-phenylalanine is unsafe in pregnancy and should be avoided while breastfeeding; L-threonine, ornithine, glutamine, and L-lysine all lack enough safety data—the facts advise avoiding supplement doses unless your doctor recommends them.
Do not use this product if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), as phenylalanine is dangerous for that condition. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have kidney or liver disease, talk with your doctor before starting.

Ryno Power Recovery contains several amino acids with documented interactions: L-phenylalanine, L-threonine, glutamine, and L-lysine.
The most serious concern is L-phenylalanine with levodopa (a Parkinson's drug), where phenylalanine can significantly reduce how well levodopa works in your brain, potentially worsening tremor and rigidity.

L-phenylalanine also interacts with muscle relaxants (baclofen) by reducing how much your body absorbs, and theoretically with older antidepressants called MAOIs, which could raise blood pressure. L-threonine may interfere with NMDA antagonists (certain pain or neurological medications).
Glutamine theoretically could work against seizure medications (anticonvulsants), though this hasn't been reported in humans yet. L-lysine may have a minor theoretical effect on certain gut-motility drugs (5-HT4 agonists).
We could not check five other amino acids in this formula: L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine, arginine alpha-ketoglutarate, and arginine-ketoisocaproate. We also have no interaction data for AstraGin.

Glutamine Alpha-Ketoglutarate
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
L-Phenylalanine
Levodopa
Phenylalanine, especially in high doses, can reduce the effectiveness of levodopa.
Phenylalanine competes with levodopa for carrier-mediated transport into the brain. The resulting reduction in levels of levodopa in the brain can exacerbate tremor, rigidity, and the "on-off" phenomenon in patients with Parkinson disease.
Baclofen
Concomitant intake of phenylalanine may reduce the intestinal absorption of baclofen.
Phenylalanine and baclofen share the same intestinal carrier for absorption; phenylalanine competitively inhibits the absorption of baclofen, reducing its plasma levels.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (Maois)
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-phenylalanine and non-selective MAOIs might increase the risk of hypertensive crisis.
L-phenylalanine is metabolized to tyrosine. Some evidence suggests that L-phenylalanine, given with the non-selective MAOI pargyline, might prevent the elimination of tyramine, increasing the risk of hypertensive crisis. However, this was not reported in a small number of patients when using L-phenylalanine with the partially selective MAO-B inhibitor, selegiline.
L-Threonine
Nmda Antagonists
Theoretically, threonine might decrease the effects of NMDA antagonists.
Threonine increases central nervous system (CNS) glycine levels. Glycine seems to bind a site on NMDA receptors and enhance the activity of the receptors.
L-Lysine
5-Ht4 Agonists
Theoretically, lysine may reduce the effects of 5-HT4 agonists.
Animal research suggests that L-lysine is a partial serotonin receptor 4 (5-HT4) antagonist and inhibits diarrhea induced by the 5-HT4 agonist, 5-hydroxytryptophane.
