Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Resveratrol-SR contains one active ingredient: MicroActive Resveratrol, a form designed for sustained release. Resveratrol is a naturally occurring compound found in grape skins and other plants that your body metabolizes and uses to support various cellular processes.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients (cellulose, beta-cyclodextrin, carnauba wax, and leucine) that help deliver the resveratrol effectively.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for resveratrol shows it's possibly effective for obesity and allergic rhinitis (hay fever). For cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol, the data suggests it's possibly ineffective—meaning the research doesn't support benefit for those conditions.
The evidence we have isn't definitive in any of these areas, so talk with your doctor about whether this makes sense for what you're hoping to address.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Resveratrol from food sources is well tolerated. When taken orally at higher doses as a supplement, it's generally well tolerated, though some people experience digestive upset, diarrhea, or loose stools.
A few cases of headache, fatigue, memory loss (in dialysis patients), and a rash have been reported, though causality wasn't always clear. During pregnancy, there isn't enough safety information to recommend concentrated resveratrol supplements—the safety data advises against it.
The same holds for breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or nursing before you start this product.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Resveratrol-SR, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin or aspirin—resveratrol may increase bleeding risk. Also flag any medications metabolized by your liver (CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP2E1, or CYP3A4 substrates), especially if your doctor warned you about interactions with other drugs, since resveratrol can theoretically raise their levels.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Resveratrol-SR might be worth considering if you're curious about possible support for obesity or hay fever and your medications don't interact with it. If you take any blood thinners, heart drugs, or medications metabolized by your liver, you'll need to clear this with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Formula
Naturally occurring in red wine, resveratrol has been clinically shown to support healthy metabolism, normal insulin sensitivity, and healthy blood flow. We can now amplify benefits with Resveratrol-SR, which provides resveratrol in a special micronized, sustained-release matrix. This means the resveratrol is released over time, so it stays in the blood longer and is therefore active longer. A human study showed that compared with regular resveratrol, Resveratrol-SR achieves higher blood levels over a longer time, is 2.5x more bioavailable, and delivers sustained release over 12 hours.
More bioavailable than regular resveratrol

Resveratrol-SR by Quality Of Life Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Resveratrol-SR by Quality of Life contains resveratrol, which has documented interactions with several medication categories.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (medications that prevent clots), where resveratrol may increase bleeding risk.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Resveratrol can theoretically raise levels of drugs broken down by your liver through several pathways: CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP2E1, and CYP3A4 enzymes. For CYP2E1 substrates, there's actual human evidence—taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days increased one drug's peak level by about 54%.
For CYP3A4 substrates, however, a clinical study found that even high-dose resveratrol (3,000 mg daily for 8 weeks) didn't require dose adjustments. The CYP2C19 and CYP1A2 interactions remain theoretical so far, based on lab work but not yet reported in people.
All told, these interactions span 823 individual medications. Before you start this product, check your exact prescriptions—especially any blood thinners, heart medications, or drugs your doctor said are metabolized by your liver—with your doctor or pharmacist.

MicroActive Resveratrol
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Resveratrol may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Resveratrol seems to have antiplatelet effects.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research suggests that resveratrol inhibits CYP2E1 isoenzyme. Also, a pharmacokinetic study shows that taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days prior to taking a single dose of chlorzoxazone 250 mg increases the maximum concentration of chlorzoxazone by about 54%, the area under the curve of chlorzoxazone by about 72%, and the half-life of chlorzoxazone by about 35%. Chlorzoxazone is used as a probe drug for CYP2E1.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.
