Clinical
Cetaphil Healing is an over-the-counter topical ointment containing petrolatum as its active ingredient. Petrolatum is commonly used as an occlusive moisturizer and skin protectant, functioning to seal in moisture and create a barrier on the skin. This product is marketed as an OTC monograph drug, meaning it follows FDA guidelines for its category rather than being individually approved through a separate application.
