Read the full MedlinePlus article ↗This is an over-the-counter kit containing two separate products for daytime and nighttime relief of cold and flu symptoms. The daytime product contains acetaminophen (a pain reliever and fever reducer), dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant), and phenylephrine (a nasal decongestant). The nighttime product contains acetaminophen, dextromethorphan, and doxylamine succinate (a sedating antihistamine). These products are marketed under FDA's established guidelines for over-the-counter cold and flu symptom combinations.
