Clinical
Critic-Aid Clear Petrolatum is an over-the-counter topical ointment containing petrolatum as its active ingredient. Petrolatum is a mineral oil-based emollient that is typically used to help soften and protect skin, and is commonly applied to areas of minor irritation, dryness, or chafing. This product is marketed as an OTC monograph drug, meaning it follows FDA's established safety and use guidelines for this category of skin protectants rather than being individually reviewed by the agency.
