Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical ointment containing petrolatum as its active ingredient. Petrolatum is a mineral oil-based occlusive agent typically used on skin to help retain moisture and protect against irritation. The product is marketed under FDA's OTC monograph rules for skin protectant ointments. It is applied directly to the skin surface and is commonly found in products intended to soothe and moisturize dry or irritated areas.
