Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical ointment containing petrolatum, a mineral oil-based ingredient. Petrolatum is commonly used as a moisturizer and skin protectant on minor cuts, scrapes, and dry or irritated skin. The ointment form allows the ingredient to coat and soften the skin barrier. This product is marketed under the FDA's over-the-counter monograph rules for skin protectant products.
