Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical cream containing petrolatum, a mineral oil-based moisturizer. Petrolatum is commonly used to help soften and protect dry or irritated skin by forming an occlusive barrier that traps moisture. This product is marketed as an OTC monograph drug, meaning it is made and sold under federal rules for skin protectants rather than as an individually reviewed application. Petroleum jelly creams like this are typically applied directly to affected skin areas.
