Clinical
This is an over-the-counter oral swab that contains glycerin as its active ingredient. Glycerin is typically used as a demulcent and humectant, meaning it functions to soothe and moisturize mucous membranes in the mouth and throat. Swabs of this type are commonly used to provide temporary relief of dry mouth or throat irritation. This product is marketed under the FDA's over-the-counter monograph rules for its category rather than as an individually approved drug application.
