Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical jelly marketed under FDA's monograph rules for skin protectants. The active ingredient, white petrolatum, is a mineral oil-based emollient commonly used to soften and protect skin. It functions as a moisture barrier to help prevent water loss from the skin surface. Products of this type are typically applied to dry, chapped, or irritated skin areas.
