Clinical
Splash Tears is an over-the-counter eye drop solution containing hypromellose, a thickening agent that functions as an artificial tear lubricant. This OTC monograph product is applied directly to the eye and is typically used to relieve dryness and irritation of the eye surface. Hypromellose forms a protective film over the eye and helps retain moisture, mimicking natural tear function. This type of product is commonly used for temporary comfort when natural tears are insufficient.
