Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical swab product containing benzocaine. Benzocaine is a local anesthetic commonly used to numb minor pain and itching on the skin surface. The swab form makes it convenient for applying the medication directly to insect bite or sting sites. This product is marketed under the FDA's OTC monograph rules for topical anesthetics rather than as an individually approved drug application.
