Clinical
Tussin CF is an over-the-counter liquid cough and cold medicine taken by mouth. It contains dextromethorphan, which is typically used to reduce cough, along with guaifenesin, an expectorant commonly used to help thin mucus and make coughs more productive. The product also contains phenylephrine, a decongestant typically used to relieve nasal congestion. This combination is marketed as an OTC monograph product, meaning it follows FDA category rules for cough, cold, and decongestant products.
