Clinical
- It treats high blood pressure. It combines atenolol, a beta-blocker, with chlorthalidone, a water pill. Lowering your blood pressure reduces your risk of stroke and heart attack.
- It is a tablet taken by mouth, usually once a day. Your prescriber picks the strength and may adjust it. Follow your label directions.
- Please don't stop it suddenly. Stopping can worsen chest pain and has been linked to heart attacks in people with coronary artery disease. Talk to your doctor first.
