Clinical
Acetaminophen is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever. Acetaminophen is in a class of medications called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics (fever reducers). It works by changing the way the body senses pain and by cooling the body.
Read the full MedlinePlus article ↗This is an over-the-counter kit containing daytime and nighttime formulations for cold and flu symptom relief. The daytime product contains acetaminophen, commonly used to reduce fever and relieve aches and pain, and dextromethorphan hydrobromide, typically used to suppress cough. The nighttime product adds doxylamine succinate, an antihistamine commonly used to promote drowsiness and aid sleep. As an OTC monograph drug, this product is marketed under established FDA guidelines for its category rather than through individual product approval.
