Clinical
Curology Barrier Balm is a topical ointment that combines two protective ingredients commonly used to soothe and protect irritated skin. Dimethicone is a silicone polymer that forms a water-resistant barrier on the skin surface, while petrolatum is an occlusive moisturizer that helps trap water and protect against moisture loss. This product is an over-the-counter monograph drug, meaning it is formulated according to FDA guidelines for skin protectant ointments and does not require individual FDA approval before marketing.
