Pharmacokinetic studies have shown that etodolac displaces warfarin at protein binding sites, but the clearance of free warfarin was unchanged and the prothrombin time (PT) was not significantly affected1. A few cases of a prolonged PT have been reported in patients receiving combined therapy with etodolac and warfarin. Therefore, caution should be exercised when coadministering etodolac and an oral anticoagulant 2.
