Functional nervous system disorders, such as sleep disorders and headache, were reported in 14.2% taking combination therapy compared with 2% taking gold monotherapy. Stroke was reported in 21% taking combination therapy compared with 0% taking gold monotherapy. A duration of combination therapy of greater than 3 months was associated with a higher risk of adverse events 2.
