Concomitant administration of rosuvastatin and febuxostat (CYP2C9/BCRP inhibitor) may increase rosuvastatin exposure and may increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis. During drug interaction studies, administration of a single dose of rosuvastatin 10 mg to patients receiving febuxostat (120 mg once daily for 4 days) resulted in 1.9-fold increase in the AUC and 2.1-fold increase in the Cmax of rosuvastatin. If coadministration is required, do not exceed a dose of rosuvastatin 20 mg/day1.
