Here's the idea behind this pairing. Tositumomab (Bexxar) is an antibody-based therapy that works by dampening or targeting certain immune cells, often as part of treating non-Hodgkin lymphoma. AHCC, on the other hand, is promoted to rev up the immune system, particularly cells like NK cells and T-cells. So in theory the two could work against each other, with AHCC blunting the effect your treatment is trying to achieve.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is a theoretical concern based on how each one works, not proven in people taking them together. Still, with a serious cancer treatment, I wouldn't want to take chances. Please loop in your oncology team or pharmacist before adding AHCC so they can weigh in.
