Doxepin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Active Hexose Correlated Compound (ahcc) interacts with.

Theoretically, AHCC might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro studies suggest that AHCC might induce the CYP2D6 enzyme. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear doxepin. Lab studies hint that AHCC might speed this enzyme up a bit, which in theory could move doxepin out of your system a little faster. If that happened, you might notice it working less well, so you could have a harder time staying asleep or get less of the calming effect you're counting on.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This comes only from test-tube work, and it has never actually been shown in people. So it's more of a 'keep an eye out' than a real red flag. If you'd like to use AHCC alongside your doxepin, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
