Blood Type Diet + Alitretinoin
Alitretinoin brand name: Panretin.
We found no known interaction between Blood Type Diet and Alitretinoin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Blood Type Diet and Alitretinoin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Alitretinoin and Blood Type Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Blood Type Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Blood Type Diet at all — not against Alitretinoin, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Blood Type Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Alitretinoin page
“Alitretinoin (Panretin) is a retinoid gel used on Kaposi sarcoma skin lesions, and because it is a vitamin A derivative, treat these 38 supplement interactions with genuine care. Two carry a major rating.”

Where Blood Type Diet and Alitretinoin Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.

#945 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Blood Type Diet reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Blood Type Diet and Alitretinoin records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Blood Type Diet
What is Blood Type Diet?
- Weight loss
- General wellness
- Heart health
- Digestive health
- Reducing inflammation
The Blood Type Diet claims that eating foods matched to your ABO blood type improves health and weight, but good-quality studies have not shown that blood type determines who benefits from a given diet. Any health improvements people see are more likely from simply eating more whole, unprocessed foods. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before making big changes, especially if you have a health condition.
Eating plan (whole-food diet based on ABO blood type)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Blood Type Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Blood Type Diet record says about it on its own.
Blood Type Diet: dosing
There is no "dose" for the Blood Type Diet — it is an eating pattern, not a pill. Followers are given food lists for their blood type and adjust meals accordingly. If you want to try it, focus on the healthy parts (more whole foods, fewer processed foods) and make sure you still get a full range of nutrients. A pharmacist, doctor, or registered dietitian can help you plan a balanced version and decide whether any supplement, such as a multivitamin, is needed.

About Alitretinoin
What Is Alitretinoin Used For?
Brand name: Panretin
Panretin Gel is approved to treat cutaneous lesions — visible skin sores — in adults who have AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma (KS), a cancer that causes abnormal tissue to grow in the skin.
Panretin Gel is applied directly to the affected skin spots. It is not for use when the disease has spread widely enough to need systemic (whole-body) treatment — for example, when there are more than 10 new lesions in a month, or when the lungs, lymph nodes, or internal organs are involved.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Alitretinoin
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (117 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Alitretinoin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Alitretinoin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Blood Type Diet — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
