Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Diphenhydramine, Pseudoephedrine
Diphenhydramine, Pseudoephedrine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Cannabichromene (cbc) interacts with.
Animal research shows that cannabichromene, given as a single dose intraperitoneally, increases the sedative response to the drugs hexobarbital, barbital, and zoxazolamine. However, this effect was not maintained when cannabichromene was given continuously. After receiving cannabichromene daily for 7 days, the sedative effect of these drugs was reduced when compared with a control group or a single dose of cannabichromene.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep an eye on with Actifed Allergy: the diphenhydramine part is an antihistamine that already makes a lot of people drowsy. Pairing it with CBC could add to that sleepy, foggy feeling. The concern here is simply extra sedation, things like grogginess, slowed reaction time, dry mouth feeling worse, or trouble staying alert to drive. The pseudoephedrine side is a stimulant, so the picture can get a little mixed.
I want to be honest about how thin the evidence is. This comes only from animal studies, and even there the added drowsiness mostly showed up with single doses and faded with daily use. So treat this as a theoretical caution, not a sure thing. If you'd like to use a CBC product, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Diphenhydramine, Pseudoephedrine page
“This medicine pulls in two directions at once, which is exactly why the supplement list for diphenhydramine and pseudoephedrine (Actifed Allergy) is not one to skim. The antihistamine half is sedating, so anything else that slows the brain deepens drowsiness; beer, wine, and kava all carry major ratings, with alcohol the best documented.”
