Cha De Bugre and Pramlintide

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Pramlintide and Cha De Bugre in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Cha De Bugre at all — not against Pramlintide, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Pramlintide. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 102 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Pramlintide that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Cha De Bugre’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Cha De Bugre side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Cha De Bugre has no side effects.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Pramlintide

This page covers Cha De Bugre only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Pramlintide page lists 239 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate), Agaricus Mushroom (moderate) and Agmatine (moderate).

By severity: 1 major · 208 moderate · 30 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pramlintide page

“The single entry rated major on the pramlintide (Symlin) list is Siberian cocklebur, which has caused severe hypoglycemia in humans, not just in lab studies. That matters more than usual here because pramlintide is injected at mealtimes alongside insulin, and a dangerous low is already the main hazard of that pairing.”

About Cha De Bugre

What is Cha De Bugre?

  • Weight loss
  • Appetite control
  • Mild diuretic (water retention)
  • Cellulite
  • Energy and stimulation

Cha De Bugre is a Brazilian herbal tea traditionally used for weight loss and appetite control, but solid human research supporting these uses is lacking. Because it may have caffeine-like stimulant effects and its safety has not been well studied, talk with your pharmacist or doctor before trying it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

About Pramlintide Injection

What Is Pramlintide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Symlin

SymlinPen (pramlintide) is used as an add-on treatment for adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who already use mealtime insulin but still haven't reached their target blood sugar levels — even with optimal insulin therapy.

It is not a replacement for insulin. It works alongside insulin, given right before major meals, to reduce the spike in blood sugar that happens after eating.
