Chromotherapy and Cefotetan

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Cefotetan and Chromotherapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Chromotherapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Chromotherapy at all — not against Cefotetan, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Chromotherapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Chromotherapy safety at a glance

Chromotherapy overall Use caution Generally low-risk as a relaxation aid, but unproven and should not replace medical treatment.
Pregnancy Use caution No reliable safety data; gentle ambient color exposure is unlikely to harm, but check with your doctor.
Breastfeeding Use caution No reliable safety data; discuss with your healthcare provider before relying on it.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

What Cefotetan’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Chromotherapy. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Cefotetan’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you have Chromotherapy and take the medicine. 10 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Anemia Worth acting on mentioned in 14.0% of FDA reports for Cefotetan
  • Kidney problems Worth acting on mentioned in 11.9% of FDA reports for Cefotetan
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes Worth acting on
  • A severe skin reaction Worth acting on
  • Seizures Worth acting on
  • A low platelet count Worth acting on
  • Hives Worth acting on
  • A low white blood cell count Worth acting on
  • Bleeding or bruising Worth acting on
  • An allergic reaction Worth acting on

Showing the 10 most notable of 17 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Cefotetan. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 143 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Cefotetan that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Chromotherapy’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Chromotherapy side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Chromotherapy has no side effects.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Cefotetan

This page covers Chromotherapy only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Cefotetan page lists 43 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Asarabacca (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), African Wild Potato (moderate), Aristolochia (moderate) and Bacillus Coagulans (moderate).

By severity: 2 major · 39 moderate · 2 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Cefotetan page

“The two kidney warnings on this cefotetan (Cefotan) list are where to start. Cefotetan is an injectable cephalosporin antibiotic, usually given in the hospital or around surgery, and two herbs here, Siberian cocklebur and asarabacca, can damage the kidneys on their own.”

About Chromotherapy

What is Chromotherapy?

  • Stress and relaxation
  • Mood and emotional balance
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Energy and general wellness
  • Pain or discomfort relief

Chromotherapy (color therapy) is an alternative practice that uses colored light or color exposure to try to improve health and mood. It is not a dietary supplement or herb, and there is very little high-quality scientific evidence that it treats any medical condition. It is generally low-risk as a relaxation tool, but it should not replace proven medical care.

Not applicable (chromotherapy is a light/color therapy, not a plant or supplement) · Colored light exposure, colored lamps or LED panels, colored glass or filters, sometimes paired with water, fabrics, or environment design

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Chromotherapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Chromotherapy record says about it on its own.

Chromotherapy: dosing

There is no standardized or proven "dose" for chromotherapy. Session length, color, and intensity vary widely between devices, practitioners, and traditions, and none has been scientifically established as effective. If you choose to try chromotherapy, follow the instructions that come with the device or the guidance of a qualified practitioner. Avoid staring directly into bright light sources, and stop if you feel any discomfort.
