Durian and Terconazole

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Terconazole and Durian in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Terconazole

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Terconazole is filed under 2 classifications — antifungals, oral drugs. Durian has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being alcohol (ethanol) (moderate) — and none of Terconazole’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

What Durian Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Terconazole. It is the side-effect record for Durian on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Durian, this list is the first place to look. One entry is worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

Everything above comes from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record for Durian — expand a row for the licensed statement it rests on. We read the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Terconazole’s FDA label too, and the two lists don’t meaningfully overlap — which is why no Terconazole column appears here.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Terconazole

This page covers Durian only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Terconazole page lists 20 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Coffee Charcoal (moderate), European Mandrake (moderate), Glucomannan (moderate) and Guar Gum (moderate).

By severity: 1 major · 7 moderate · 12 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Terconazole page

“Terconazole (Terazole) is a vaginal antifungal for yeast infections, and its supplement list earns genuine caution because of one standout: activated charcoal, the only major-rated interaction among the 20 on file. Charcoal binds many medicines and can lower their levels even when a drug is not taken by mouth, which makes it the entry…”

About Durian

What is Durian?

  • General nutrition and energy
  • Traditional tonic or aphrodisiac
  • Digestive support
  • Source of antioxidants
  • Fever and traditional folk remedies

Durian is a popular tropical fruit valued mainly as a nutritious food rich in carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants. While it has many traditional medicinal uses, there is little solid human research to support health claims beyond basic nutrition, and it is very high in calories. Enjoy it as a food in moderation, and check with your doctor or pharmacist if you have diabetes or other health concerns.

Durio zibethinus · Malvaceae · Fruit (pulp and seeds); rind, leaves, and roots in traditional medicine · Fresh fruit, frozen pulp, dried snacks, powder, capsules, candy, and flavorings

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Durian is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Durian record says about it on its own.

Durian: dosing

There is no established medicinal dose for durian. As a food, a small serving of the pulp is typical, and because it is high in calories and sugar, moderation is wise. For any durian supplement, powder, or extract product, follow the directions on the label.

About Terconazole

What Is Terconazole Used For?

Brand name: Terazole

Terconazole vaginal cream and vaginal suppositories are both indicated for the local treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis — commonly known as a vaginal yeast infection caused by Candida species. Because these products only work against Candida, a healthcare provider should confirm the diagnosis before or during treatment.

Before starting a second course of treatment with terconazole vaginal suppositories, the diagnosis should be re-confirmed by lab tests and other possible causes of symptoms should be ruled out.
