About Panitumumab Injection

What Is Panitumumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Vectibix

Vectibix (panitumumab injection) is used to treat metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) in adults. It is approved for patients whose tumors have a specific genetic profile — either wild-type RAS (no RAS mutations in KRAS or NRAS) or a KRAS G12C mutation — as confirmed by an FDA-approved test before starting treatment.

For wild-type RAS mCRC, Vectibix may be used alone after prior chemotherapy has stopped working, or in combination with FOLFOX chemotherapy as a first-line treatment. For KRAS G12C-mutated mCRC, Vectibix is used in combination with sotorasib in patients who have already received fluoropyrimidine-, oxaliplatin-, and irinotecan-based chemotherapy. Vectibix is not appropriate for patients with RAS-mutant mCRC (except in the specific KRAS G12C combination setting) or for patients whose RAS mutation status is unknown.
