Energy Therapy and Bupropion

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Bupropion and Energy Therapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Energy Therapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Energy Therapy at all — not against Bupropion, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Energy Therapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Energy Therapy safety at a glance

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

What Bupropion’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Energy Therapy. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Bupropion’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. • Mania or an unusually elevated mood Worth acting on
  • Thoughts of self-harm Worth acting on
  • Trouble swallowing Worth acting on
  • Hallucinations Worth acting on
  • An irregular heartbeat Worth acting on
  • Confusion Worth acting on

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Bupropion. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 152,137 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Bupropion that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Energy Therapy’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Energy Therapy side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Energy Therapy has no side effects.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Bupropion

This page covers Energy Therapy only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Bupropion page lists 46 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Bupropion page

“Bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban) deserves genuine care around supplements, and the entry to understand first is activated charcoal, the only major-rated interaction on this list. Charcoal and similar bulk products can soak up the drug in the gut and blunt its effect, so space them well apart from your dose.”

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Energy Therapy is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Energy Therapy reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Energy Therapy and Bupropion records this page draws on were last updated June 20, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Energy Therapy

What is Energy Therapy?

  • Stress and relaxation
  • Pain relief
  • Anxiety
  • Improved sense of well-being
  • Support during cancer or other illness
  • Better sleep

Energy therapy is a group of mind-body practices (such as Reiki, therapeutic touch, and healing touch) that aim to balance a person's "energy field" to support relaxation and well-being. There is no proven biological energy field, and high-quality evidence for medical benefits is limited, though many people find these sessions calming. It is generally low-risk when used alongside—not instead of—standard medical care.

Not applicable (a practice, not a plant or substance) · Hands-on or hands-near-body sessions, distance sessions, self-treatment techniques

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Energy Therapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Energy Therapy record says about it on its own.

Energy Therapy: dosing

There is no standardized "dose" for energy therapy. Sessions vary in length (often around 20–60 minutes) and frequency depending on the practitioner and your goals. If you choose to try it, look for a qualified, reputable practitioner, and consider it a complement to—not a substitute for—your medical care.
