Energy Therapy and Lamotrigine

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Lamotrigine and Energy Therapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Energy Therapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Energy Therapy at all — not against Lamotrigine, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Energy Therapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Energy Therapy safety at a glance

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Energy Therapy is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Energy Therapy reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Energy Therapy and Lamotrigine records this page draws on were last updated June 20, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Energy Therapy

What is Energy Therapy?

  • Stress and relaxation
  • Pain relief
  • Anxiety
  • Improved sense of well-being
  • Support during cancer or other illness
  • Better sleep

Energy therapy is a group of mind-body practices (such as Reiki, therapeutic touch, and healing touch) that aim to balance a person's "energy field" to support relaxation and well-being. There is no proven biological energy field, and high-quality evidence for medical benefits is limited, though many people find these sessions calming. It is generally low-risk when used alongside—not instead of—standard medical care.

Not applicable (a practice, not a plant or substance) · Hands-on or hands-near-body sessions, distance sessions, self-treatment techniques

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Energy Therapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Energy Therapy record says about it on its own.

Energy Therapy: dosing

There is no standardized "dose" for energy therapy. Sessions vary in length (often around 20–60 minutes) and frequency depending on the practitioner and your goals. If you choose to try it, look for a qualified, reputable practitioner, and consider it a complement to—not a substitute for—your medical care.

About Lamotrigine

What Is Lamotrigine Used For?

Brand name: Lamictal

Lamotrigine is used to treat several types of seizures in adults and children aged 2 and older — including partial-onset seizures, generalized tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures, and seizures related to Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. In older teens and adults, it can also be used alone (monotherapy) after transitioning off another seizure medicine.

For adults with bipolar I disorder, lamotrigine is used as a maintenance treatment — meaning it helps delay the return of mood episodes like depression, mania, or mixed states. It is not approved to treat an active manic or mixed episode that's happening right now.
