About Secukinumab Injection

What Is Secukinumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Cosentyx

Cosentyx (secukinumab) injection is approved to treat several immune-driven inflammatory conditions in adults and children. These include moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (PsO), active psoriatic arthritis (PsA), active ankylosing spondylitis (AS), active non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA), active enthesitis-related arthritis (ERA), and moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS).

The specific ages eligible vary by condition. Cosentyx by subcutaneous injection is approved for plaque psoriasis in patients 6 and older, psoriatic arthritis in patients 2 and older, ankylosing spondylitis in patients 12 and older, enthesitis-related arthritis in patients 4 and older, and hidradenitis suppurativa in patients 12 and older. Non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis is approved in adults only. Cosentyx given by intravenous infusion is approved only for adult patients with PsA, AS, and nr-axSpA.
