Expressive Therapies and Digoxin

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Digoxin and Expressive Therapies in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Expressive Therapies alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Expressive Therapies at all — not against Digoxin, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Expressive Therapies is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Digoxin’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Expressive Therapies. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Digoxin’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. • A slow heartbeat Worth acting on
  • Hallucinations Worth acting on
  • Heart failure Worth acting on
  • An irregular heartbeat Worth acting on
  • Confusion Worth acting on
  • Low mood Worth acting on
  • A low platelet count Worth acting on
  • Breast tenderness

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Digoxin. Read the label on DailyMed › Expressive Therapies’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Expressive Therapies side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Expressive Therapies has no side effects.

These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. See Every Supplement That Interacts With Digoxin

This page covers Expressive Therapies only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Digoxin page lists 113 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Digoxin page

“Digoxin is a heart medicine with a narrow therapeutic index, meaning the gap between a helpful blood level and a harmful one is small, and few drugs give me more pause when supplements enter the picture. The most serious entries here are herbs that themselves contain digoxin-like cardiac glycosides, foxglove and lily-of-the-valley amon…”

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Expressive Therapies is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Expressive Therapies reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified October 4, 2026. The Expressive Therapies and Digoxin records this page draws on were last updated June 20, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Expressive Therapies

What is Expressive Therapies?

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression and low mood
  • Coping with trauma or grief
  • Emotional expression and self-awareness
  • Support during serious illness or rehabilitation

Expressive therapies are mind-body treatments that use creative activities like art, music, dance, drama, or writing to help people process emotions and improve mental well-being. They are not a supplement, herb, or medicine you take. They are generally low-risk and are usually used alongside, not instead of, standard medical or mental health care.

Not applicable — this is a mind-body therapy, not a plant or supplement · Art therapy, music therapy, dance/movement therapy, drama therapy, writing/poetry therapy

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Expressive Therapies is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Expressive Therapies record says about it on its own.

Expressive Therapies: dosing

There is no standard "dose" for expressive therapies because they are activities, not products. How often and how long sessions last can vary widely depending on the type of therapy, the program, and your goals.Sessions are often offered weekly, in either one-on-one or group settings, and may run for several weeks or longer. Look for therapists who are licensed or certified in their specific field, such as a board-certified music therapist or registered art therapist.

About Digoxin

What Is Digoxin Used For?

Brand names: Lanoxicaps, Lanoxin, Digitek

Digoxin treats mild to moderate heart failure in adults. It improves heart failure symptoms and exercise capacity, and it reduces heart failure-related hospitalizations and emergency care. It does not change survival.

It also helps control the resting heart rate in adults with chronic atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat). In children with heart failure, the tablet, oral solution and most injection products are used to increase the heart’s pumping strength (myocardial contractility). Some older injection labels list only the adult uses. Digoxin Oral Solution should not be used for multifocal atrial tachycardia.
