Field Scabious and Abemaciclib

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Abemaciclib and Field Scabious in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Field Scabious at all — not against Abemaciclib, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Abemaciclib page

“A daily pill for a common form of advanced breast cancer, abemaciclib (Verzenio) only helps when its blood level stays steady, so this list of 138 supplements deserves genuine care. Nearly all of them act on CYP3A4, the liver enzyme that clears abemaciclib, meaning a supplement can push its level up and intensify side effects, or drag…”

About Field Scabious

What is Field Scabious?

  • Skin conditions like eczema and minor wounds
  • Cough and chest complaints
  • Sore throat
  • Mild digestive upset
  • Traditional 'blood cleansing' remedies

Field Scabious is a wild-growing herb used in European folk medicine, mostly for skin problems, coughs, and sore throats. There is very little modern scientific research to confirm any of these uses, so it should be viewed as a traditional remedy rather than a proven treatment. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines.

Knautia arvensis · Caprifoliaceae · Aerial parts (flowers, leaves, and stems), occasionally the root · Tea (infusion), tincture, dried herb, topical washes or compresses

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Field Scabious is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Field Scabious record says about it on its own.

Field Scabious: dosing

There is no established, standardized dose for Field Scabious. It has traditionally been prepared as a tea from the dried aerial parts or as a tincture, but reliable dosing guidelines from clinical research do not exist. If you choose to use a commercial product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed them.
